TheArmy Wool Military Beret with Flash features a half-moon insert at its front emblazoned with the flash patch of the Revolutionary War-era US Continental Army.This US Army flash – officially approved by theUnited States Army Institute of Heraldry on November 20th, 2000 – is based on the national colors (white stars against a blue field) and the field flag of the Continental ArmyCommander-in-Chief (light blue with thirteen stars). The thirteen stars symbolize the original thirteen colonies, later turned states.
